FREEFROM
SURVIVOR STORIES ON SCREEN
Client Overview
FreeFrom is a national nonprofit that builds economic justice and financial security for survivors of gender-based violence. In 2024, they launched Survivor Made, a documentary spotlighting the resilience of survivors who became entrepreneurs as a pathway to independence.
The Challenge
FreeFrom needed high-quality photo and video coverage for the premiere of Survivor Made in multiple cities across the U.S., including Los Angeles, Oakland, Seattle, Washington D.C., and New York City. These events featured powerful panel discussions and prominent voices like Chani Nicholas, Roxane Gay, Nava Mau, and Alok Vaid-Menon. The organization wanted consistent, professional coverage from city to city without the headache of sourcing and managing different local teams. They also needed a rapid turnaround so they could keep the energy of the premiere alive across social media and beyond.
The Solution
Solhaus Media partnered with FreeFrom to provide cohesive photo and video coverage for every premiere. We handled everything, including travel logistics, team coordination, and capturing content that reflected the gravity and hope embedded in the film.
Deliverables included:
Full galleries of event photography delivered within 24 hours to keep engagement high
A sizzle reel from the first screening to build momentum across upcoming cities
Complete recordings of panel discussions and Q&A sessions for archival and promotional use
Social-ready video clips highlighting powerful soundbites from panelists and talkbacks
Our fast turnaround and strategic editing allowed FreeFrom to immediately share content with attendees, sponsors, and their wider community.
The Impact
FreeFrom was able to amplify the conversation beyond the walls of the theater. Within hours of each premiere, they were engaging their audience online with real-time visuals and panel clips. The photo and video content extended the documentary’s impact, strengthened relationships with donors and sponsors, and provided assets for future campaigns, including their Survivor Wealth Summit. The result was more than documentation; it was storytelling that kept the mission alive long after the credits rolled.
