For this Los Angeles corporate headshot project, the physicians we photographed weren’t just updating their professional portraits — they were being honored for their Physicians’ Excellence Contribution Awards, recognizing the meaningful impact they make beyond their everyday clinical work.
These portraits became part of the visual storytelling for an award ceremony celebrating leadership, service, and dedication in healthcare.
Headshots Created to Celebrate Achievement
The goal of this project wasn’t simply documentation. It was recognition.
Each physician was being acknowledged for contributions that extended outside of their regular medical practice — leadership, service, research, and community impact. The imagery needed to reflect:

That meant the images had to work beautifully both up close in print and large-scale on stage.

Photographing Busy Professionals with Care and Efficiency
Working with physicians requires a process that respects tight schedules. Each portrait session was designed to be efficient while still allowing space for natural, confident expressions.
Most of the doctors assumed that we’d be taking the photos inside their medical offices, but upon arrival, I called them and asked them to grab their lab coats and come outside for their pictures. The work they were being recognized for was done outside of clinical settings, so why not have the photos reflect that, even if they were headshots?
The setup allowed us to:
Photograph multiple honorees in a consistent style
Keep sessions short and seamless
Deliver portraits that felt elevated, not rushed
Maintain a cohesive look across the entire group
The result was a unified collection of portraits that visually connected every award recipient while still honoring each person as an individual. And the doctors loved the little break to soak up some Vitamin D during their busy workday.
