Los Angeles Event Videography for a Spiritual Coach
Woo-centric small business girlies unite – this SoCal business event is the perfect blend of spirituality and strategy, which makes it one of our favorite events of the year to shoot. From social media strategy, to kundalini, to cacao ceremonies, this event has it all.
As a Los Angeles event videographer, I frequently travel for retreats and live events throughout Southern California, including Erin Porter’s Energetics of Business event in San Diego.
We’ve been working with Erin since 2023, when we captured her inaugural event. Since then Erin has made EOB a destination for women business owners to do the deep somatic work that will help them expand as entrepreneurs.
Los Angeles Event Videography for Transformational Women’s Business Events
The highlight sizzle reel for the Energetics of Business, a transformational experience for women entrepreneurs led by Erin Porter. Filmed by Solhaus Media—a Los Angeles-based, woman-owned video production company—it captures not just the speakers and sponsors, but the real energy of the room: vulnerability, connection, and community.
From full-length keynote footage to B-roll of hugs, tears, and high-fives, this video was created with intention to support both storytelling and repurposing. With testimonials, speaker clips, and shareable reels built into the delivery, this is more than a recap—it’s a brand asset designed to serve long after the event ends.
Energetics of Business wasn’t a traditional conference — it was an immersive experience for women business owners, coaches, and leaders designed to support them through somatic healing, embodiment practices, and energetic alignment.
Throughout the event, attendees participated in sound bowl sessions, breathwork, guided movement, energy healing, a cacao ceremony, and even a silent disco and cold plunge experience. Each activity was intentionally designed to help women reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and build their businesses from a grounded, embodied place.
As a Los Angeles event videographer, my role was to document not just what happened on stage, but the emotional experience of being in the room — the laughter, the breakthroughs, and the quiet moments between sessions that make an event unforgettable.
There’s one big reason Solhaus Media gets hired regularly by female business owners for their events is that we, too, are a woman-owned small business, and exercise a trauma-informed approach while behind the lens.
Many of these women have experienced traumas, gaslighting, and being dismissed and having someone with an empathetic and understanding energy makes a huge difference, and this is why the attendees look so comfortable in the shots – we are not just the help, we are also one of them.
How Event Video Captures Energy, Not Just Content
When people think of event videography, they often picture a tripod in the back of the room recording speakers. But the real value comes from capturing the energy of the audience, the connections in the hallway, and the emotional reactions that make viewers feel like they were there.
At this event, coverage included:
Speaker presentations
Audience engagement and reactions
Community moments and networking
Behind-the-scenes interactions
That layered approach is what turns footage into a marketing asset rather than just documentation.
Because this was such an experiential event, we approached coverage with a storytelling mindset rather than just documenting what happened. We captured keynote speakers and panels, but also the quieter, more intimate moments such as journaling, hands-on healing work, movement sessions, and deep conversations between attendees.
There are some non-negotiables when it comes to what to capture at Energetics of Business and how. These include the following:
Full recording of event opening remarks from organizer, Erin Porter. This not only guarantees that we have audio to use describing the event, but she also is able to cut up and use the video for social media content.
B-Roll of each collaborator. Erin shares her final media library with all of her speakers, sponsors and vendors. In addition to making sure nobody feels left out when they receive a link to the assets later, we make sure they have a variety of close-up and wide shots as well.
Hugs, tears, and interactions. We’re constantly scanning the room for big feels to get on video. These clips are what take a good video to great.
Testimonials. At the end of the day, we pulled aside a few people and mic them up to capture a short testimonial about the event. This includes attendees, speakers, and sponsors, so that Erin would have proof of concept to a variety of different audiences she needs to attract for the next event. We also try to get a few testimonials from attendees who are part of Erin’s mastermind, so she has content to use for her brand.
Sponsor integration was also an important part of the event’s visual storytelling. Several beverage and wellness brands provided drinks and products, and we made sure to capture natural, lifestyle moments of attendees enjoying those offerings during workshops, while socializing outdoors, and even during the silent disco.
This ensured sponsors received authentic, on-brand imagery that felt organic rather than staged, making their partnerships more valuable and shareable long after the event ended.
What Clients Receive From an Event Video Production
Most of the time when folks hire a videographer, they think they’ll get one promo video and a gallery out of their investment and that’ll be that.
But event video and photo should not end when the event ends. The final deliverables from this production included:
Highlight videos for social media
Short-form reels for marketing
Website video content
Speaker and host promotional clips
a gallery that is meant to be distributed to collaborators instead of just the event organizer
This type of coverage allows event hosts to continue promoting their brand, attracting attendees, and building authority long after the event is over.
And, by delivering a mix of closeups, mid-range interaction shots, wide environmental scenes, and both vertical and horizontal compositions, every speaker, sponsor, and the event host walked away with assets tailored for multiple platforms and marketing needs.
That mix of wide room shots, close emotional moments, horizontal and vertical framing, and a range of focal lengths gave the event hosts, speakers, and sponsors an incredibly versatile image library to use across websites, social media, email marketing, and future event promotions.
This is the kind of strategic coverage we provide for conferences, retreats, and live experiences.
Erin uses her assets year-round to promote her products, services, and brand.
Why Event Photography and Video Matter for Women-Led Events
Women-centered business events often focus on transformation, connection, and lived experience. Those elements can’t be captured through slides or recordings alone. Visual storytelling allows future attendees to see themselves in the room and understand the emotional impact of the event.
That’s why combining event photography and videography is so powerful — still images show presence, while video captures movement, voice, and atmosphere.
Unexpected Moments That Make Events Unforgettable
Not every meaningful moment at an event is on the official agenda. Some of the most powerful memories come from the in-between — the surprises, the laughter, and the human connection.
During this year’s EOB, the community organized a surprise moment for Erin on stage. Her birthday was coming up, so they wanted to give back to her after she had given so much to her attendees this weekend. We somehow convinced her to put on a blindfold and sit on the stage, and then surprised her with a cake and candles when she opened her eyes. It was joyful, emotional, and completely unscripted — the kind of moment you can’t plan, but you can be ready to capture.
These are the scenes that give an event gallery heart. They show the relationships, the energy in the room, and the culture behind the brand — not just the programming.
